Skiing

Each winter break, the School and P&C and runs a one-week Ski Camp giving students the opportunity to experience winter snow sports, skiing and snowboarding. The camp is led by qualified instructors and caters to students of all abilities, from complete beginners through to more experienced skiers and snowboarders looking to refine their skills. Students consistently report significant gains in their proficiency and confidence on the mountain by the end of the week.
The camp price covers all transport, food and accommodation on the snow, making it a cost-effective way for students to experience the mountains compared to arranging these elements independently.
The NSW Interschools Skiing Championships (Sydney Division) takes place every year. The races take place at either Perisher or Thredbo during the second term vacation and are all team events involving the disciplines of Alpine, Cross Country, Moguls and Snowboarding. High has experienced some success with several past Cross Country ski teams progressing to the State Finals. Our Division 1 (Years 11 and 12) Moguls team have also competed in the State Finals.
Participation in both the Ski Camp and the Interschools Skiing Championships is open to all interested students.
