Table Tennis Centre

Sydney Boys High School's table tennis program is a growing community.
Presently the program has a total of 72 students across all year groups and
experience levels. However, the current venues are largely insufficient to house
the sport. Renting these spaces is expensive, and the long distances from school
reduces the time available for training and they are neither designed to
accommodate table tennis nor are they sized to support the number of users while
providing a good playing experience.
As Table Tennis at High transitions towards regular weekend competition, the
school is proposing to construct an on-site facility that can support both
competition and training in Table Tennis. The venue will be a multipurpose sport
venue - also accommodating badminton, volleyball, pickleball etc.
Features
- Capacity for 8-10 table tennis tables
- On-site table storage
- Taraflex flooring supporting multiple sports
- Low-bay LED lighting for correct table illumination
- Prefabricated design
- Maximal use of natural climate control
Initial project specification and design work has been undertaken by
HSC-level Design and Technology students Alex Huang, Justin Nguyen and Richie
He.
